Obituary

Mrs. Sallie Sheldon, wife of C. G. Sheldon, of Monroe township, died at her home Sunday, August 4th, 1889. The funeral services were held the next day at the First Christian church in this city.

Mrs. Sheldon’s maiden name was Knight. She was born in Wabash county, Illinois, in October, 1839. She was twice married; the first time to William Compton, late of this county. She married C. G. Sheldon in August, 1884.

Mrs. Sheldon was a sister of Mrs. D. Philbrick. She leaves many relatives and friends to mourn her departure. The sympathy of a host of friends will be with Mr. Sheldon and family in their bereavement.

Coordinator's note: Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery per the Madison County Death Record.
