Page 1DEATH OF ELMER YOUNG
Elmer Young, 42 year old farmer, who lived with his mother, Mrs. Laura Young, at their home, a mile north of Pitzer, died suddenly, last Wednesday afternoon, January 30, from a cerebral hemorrhage. It is stated that Wednesday afternoon, he went to help saw down a tree, and complained of having a headache. He returned to the house, and his mother found him lying on the bed. She summoned a physician, but the man was dead before he arrived.
The deceased was a son of Joseph and Laura Young, and was born in this county, April 28, 1893. He served his country, in the 88th division of the army, during the World war.
He leaves his mother, three sisters and one brother: Edna Vincent of Des Moines, Maud Hildebrand of Winterset, Mary Gowin of Adel, Arthur Young of Licking, Missouri.
The Rev. H. L. Olmstead conducted his funeral services at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home Saturday, February 2, at 1:30 o’clock.
