Mr. Ransom Moon departed this life Thursday, Dec. 14, 1899. The funeral was held from the home of the deceased Friday, conducted by Rev. W. A. Cross.

Obituary

Ransom Moon was born in Randolph county, N. C., March 3, 1818, and at the time of his death, December 13, 1899, was 81 years, 9 months and 10 days of age. He came to Indiana with his parents when a child. May 23, 1844 he was married to Mary Barker; resided in Indiana until 1882, then came to Iowa while the Indians were still here. Entered land in Grand River township on which he lived until his death. He united with the Baptist church when a youth, and remained a consistent member until death. He leaves one son and two daughters to mourn his loss.
