AUGUSTA REHARD, Winterset

Augusta Lorraine Rehard, 88, died Oct. 28, 2007, at Winterset Care Center South.

Memorial services were held Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Church of the Nazarene in Winterset. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Webster Township, Madison County.

Augusta Rehard was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Madison County to August and Adela Spear and was a graduate of Earlham High School. Her marriage to Donald Rehard took place in the early 1940s. A lifetime resident of Madison County, Augusta taught country school, was involved in farming, worked in a doctor’s office in Earlham and had been a longtime employee of J.C. Penney in Winterset. Her memberships included St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and several local clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband and eight siblings.

She is survived by one son, John Rehard of Winterset.

Arrangements were handled by Sunset Funeral Chapel in Des Moines.
