W. H. Thompson, a farmer who has been a resident of Madison county for 22 years, died at his home last Friday, at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Thompson was born at Scranton, Iowa, on August 11, 1859. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Levie Thompson. His early life was spent in that community, and there he was married to Charlotte Clews on April 21, 1884. Last spring they observed their golden wedding anniversary. They were the parents of eight children, two of which died in infancy, one other as a small boy, and Elmer at the age of 32 years.
In addition to his wife, four children survive. They are Mrs. Nellie Smith of Scranton, Clem and Harley Thompson of Peru, and Mrs. Florence Bruett of Winterset. He also leaves a sister and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home on Sunday, November 25, in charge of the Rev. A. R. Weed of the West Star church. Burial was made at Scranton.
