DEATH OF MRS. SHILL

Mrs. Mary Rhyner Shill, for eleven years a resident of Winterset in the early days of the community, died at her home near Dickens, Nebraska, on December 29th, it became known here this week. She was 84 years old.

As Mary E. Rhyner, she was born in Indiana, January 9th, 1849, coming to Winterset with her parents in 1865. Here the next year she was married to John Shill. They moved to Nebraska in 1876, finally settling at Dickens. Her husband died in 1907.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church of Dickens on December 31st, burial being made in the Dickens cemetery.

Mrs. Shill is an aunt of W. A. Rhyner of this county.

Mrs. John Shill

Mary E. Ryner was born in Groveland, Indiana, January 9, 1849, and died December 29, 1933, at the age of 84.

In 1865 she moved with her parents to Winterset where her marriage to John Shill took place October 9, 1866. They lived in Winterset until 1876 when they moved to Davenport, Nebraska, leaving there in 1908 to go to Wellfett and in 1919 to Dickens. Mr. Shill died August 29, 1907.

Mrs. Shill is survived by her eleven children, thirty-eight grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She united with the Methodist church, later transferring her membership to the Christian church.

Services and burial were at Dickens.
