Mrs. R. Belle Youmans, 72-year-old Truro woman, died at her home here August 31. With exceptions of two years spent in Oklahoma, she had lived here since 1866.
Mrs. Youmans was the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Deardorff, and was born in Poweshiek county, Iowa on August 4, 1863. In 1866 she moved with her parents to Madison county. She married George Youmans on March 17, 1886. They were the parents of six children.
Mrs. Youmans had united with the church at an early age. At Truro, she was a member of the Christian church.
Mrs. Youmans is survived by her husband; five children, Fred of Crookston, Minn., Loren of Osceola, Earnie of Peru, Mrs. Cleo Creger of Macksburg, and Mrs. Opal Reed of Truro; seventeen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother and two sisters. One daughter, Buelah, died in infancy.
