FORMER RESIDENT KILLED IN CAR WRECK

J. W. Condon, 40, a former Winterset resident, died Friday morning at the Osceola hospital, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident, Wednesday. He had suffered a broken back, broken collar bone and broken ribs. Pneumonia developed several hours before his death.

Mr. Condon lived here, while he was a salesman for the Firestone Tire Company, but for the past few years has resided at 4615 Kingman Blvd., Des Moines. He leaves his wife, a daughter, Beatrice, and his mother, Mrs. Claudia McCauley of Chicago.

Condon and S. J. Naylor, 36, tire store manager of Des Moines, were killed in the same accident, which happened four miles west of Osceola, last Wednesday evening, about six o’clock. They passed two rapidly moving cars going west, and as they rounded the curve, were forced to cut in quickly to avoid hitting a car from the west. This caused the car to leave the pavement and hurl through the air.

Note: Burial at the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
