Perry Kennedy

Perry Kennedy, an old Winterset resident, died Tuesday night from heart failure. He was sixty-nine years old. Perry lived in Madison county a long time and came here with his brother William Kennedy from near Peru over forty years ago. He was afflicted with St. Vitus dance from boyhood and was a cripple all his life.

He made a brave struggle under adverse circumstances and though hopelessly crippled was always able to support himself. During the last ten or twelve years he has conducted a small grocery near the old depot site. Perry was born in Indiana. Mrs. Dahlenberg who is a niece, came with her husband from Des Moines this morning to attend the funeral which will be held at Ramsey’s parlors. Rev. Ballenger will have charge of the services.
