NILE PARKINS

Nile Parkins, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Parkins of Union township, was almost instantly killed on last Wednesday night by a fall to the pavement from the running board of a car.

The young man with his brother, Boyd Parkins and two neighbor boys, Leonard Criss and Gile Paullin, had started home from the Homecoming celebration a little before midnight. When opposite the Bert Cross home on East Court Avenue, Nile's hat blew off. The driver slowed down the car as Nile stepped on the running board to alight from the car. The sudden stop of the car caused him to lose his balance and he fell striking his head on the pavement. He was taken to Dr. Little's residence but did not regain consciousness and died in a few minutes. No blame is atached to any one because of the unfortunate accident.
