Death of Mrs. Delaplain

Mrs. Lunette Delaplain, who lived most of her life in Madison county, died at her home near Jefferson, Iowa, on July 21st, following an illness of about three weeks. She was 59 years of age.

Mrs. Delaplain was born on May 7, 1875, near Peoria, Illinois. She was the daughter of Lewis and Mary Ann Foster. At the age of 3 years she came with her parents to this county, settling in Peru. On March 7th, 1897, she was married to S. D. Delaplain. They lived in this county until 1919, when they moved to a farm in Greene county.

Mrs. Delaplain united with the Christian church of Peru at an early age. Upon moving to Greene county, she transferred her membership to the Greenbriar M. E. church.

The deceased is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Velma Rhoads of Macksburg, Mrs. Bernice Cox of Jefferson, and Mrs. Edrie Hoyt of Bagley; a son, Clayton F. Delaplain of Jefferson, a brother, Albert F. Foster of Marshalltown, and a grandaughter, Erva Lunette Cox.

Funeral services were held at Jefferson on July 23rd, directed by the Rev. Mr. Hand of the Greenbriar M. E. church. Burial was made in the Greenbriar cemetery.
