NANCY ADAMS, EARLHAM

Nancy Lee Adams, 66, of Earlham died Oct. 5, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Earlham Church of Christ with Pastor Steve Allison officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.

Nancy Adams was born Jan. 17, 1941, to Ronald and Elva (Norton) Wilson of Bussy. Following graduation from high school, she became a certified dental assistant and later worked at Des Moines Water Works. Her marriage to Harold Adams took place Jan. 18, 1959. Nancy was a Sunday school teacher for many years at the Earlham Methodist Church and a member of the Iowa Corvette Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Harold, of Earlham; two sons, Rick Adams of Clive and Nick Adams of Indianola; two sisters, Linda Adams of Atlantic and Sharon Adams of DeSoto; and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Dexter, Earlham and Redfield.

Funeral services were held for Nancy Lee Adams at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Earlham Church of Christ in Earlham, Iowa.

Pastor Steve Allison officiated. Pianist was Phyllis Mason. Soloist was Kathy Hopkins who sang “On Eagles Wings” and “In The Garden”. Special Music was “The Untitled Hymn” CD by Chris Rice.

Pallbearers were Ben Beaman, Kent Adams, Kraig Adams, Brad Adams, Joe Beaman, Jeremy Adams, and Dick Mathern.

Nancy Lee Adams was born the daughter of Ronald and Elva Norton Wilson on January 17, 1941 in Busy, Iowa and died at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on October 5, 2007 at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 18 days.

Nancy graduated from high school, became a certified Dental Assistant, and later worked at the Des Moines Water Works. On January 18, 1959, Nancy and Harold Adams were married at the home of Harold’s parents southeast of Earlham. This union was blessed with two children, Rick and Nick.

Nancy was a Sunday School teacher for many years at the Earlham Methodist Church. In earlier years Nancy and Harold traveled to places such as Branson, Washington DC and numerous times to Kentucky to visit friends. Nancy loved to watch sports on TV and the Dallas Cowboys were her favorite team. She was an avid NASCAR fan and won numerous trophies driving in auto cross races. Nancy was a member of the Iowa Corvette Club. She enjoyed playing computer games, cooking and especially spending time with her grandchildren and sister. She also loved working in her yard and garden. Family reunions were some of her favorite activities.

Nancy leaves the following family to celebrate her life: husband Harold Adams of Earlham; son Rick Adams and wife Cindy of Clive; son Nick Adams and wife Beth of Indianola; sister Linda Adams and life partner Gary Pearce of Atlantic; sister Sharon Adams and husband Leonard of DeSoto; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Adams of Adel; Alex and Dylan Adams of Indianola and Abby Adams of Clive.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard Wilson and a niece Sherry Miller.

Interment was held in the Earlham Cemetery in Earlham, Iowa. Kuhn Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
