Wednesday, March 10, 1948FREDERICK MCKAY, AGED 58 DIED AT HIS HOME HERE TUESDAY
Frederick McKay died Tuesday evening at his home in Earlham from a heart attack. Mr. McKay had not been well for some time and had given up his work as maintenance man for the Rock Island railroad several months ago. He had worked at his job for 32 years. The family moved to Earlham about seven years ago from Van Meter.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Van Meter Friday afternoon at two o'clock and burial was made at Van Meter. Mr. McKay was 58 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel McKay, one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen Dallahon and granddaughter, Deborah, four sisters and three brothers.

Thursday, March 4, 1948Ferd McKay Has Fatal Heart Attack Tuesday
Frederick McKay, 59, died at his home in Earlham, Tuesday about 9:00 p.m. He suffered a severe heart attack that morning and failed to respond to treatment during the day. He had not been well for some time.
Mr. McKay had been signal man for the Rock Island railroad for a number of years retiring about a year ago due to ill health. He and his wife and daughter, Mary Ellen, had lived in Van Meter previous to moving to Earlham a few years ago.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Van Meter, Friday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. C. A. Crouse and Rev. Floyd Newbrough will be in charge.
Casket bearers will be Ross Reynolds, Leonard Welch, Graham W. Godby, Fred Jungman, Leo Phillips and Dean McCauley. Interment in Van Meter cemetery.
