John Benjamin McCuddin, 86, of Truro, died of a heart ailment Aug. 3, 1999 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 7 at the United Methodist Church in Truro with the Rev. James Nicholson officiating. Burial was in the New Virginia Cemetery.
John McCuddin was born Sept. 6, 1912 to John J. and Iva (Ball) McCuddin of New Virginia. He graduated from the New Virginia schools. On Feb. 15, 1938, he married Twyla Evelyn Knott of Bayard. John was a farmer and member of the Truro United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Kent McCuddin (wife Gayle) of St. Charles and Roger McCuddin (wife Judy) of Braidwood, Ill.; one daughter, Janie Jewell (husband Chuck) of Johnson City, N. Y.; three sisters, Alma O'Leary of Des Moines, Thelma Kimes of Osceola and Eva McClure of Des Moines; a brother, Don McCuddin (wife Jeanne) of Osceola; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the extended care center at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Home of Truro.
