Ruth C. McCoy, 79, of Perry, Iowa died at Des Moines General Hospital on September 17 after a short illness.
She was a former resident of Winterset. She was born on April 5, 1900 in Jamaica, Iowa to Andrew and Jenny Kelso Cotton. She was married to Edward L. McCoy in Perry, June 14, 1977.
He preceded her in death on January 9, 1923.
Funeral services were conducted on September 21 at the Murdock-Timeon Funeral Home in Perry. Rev. Jerry Evelsizer, Dexter, officiated. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Perry, the Eastern Star of Dexter, and the Three Quarter Century Club.
The Eastern Star conducted a service at 7:30 p.m. September 20 at the funeral home.
Survivors are a son, Robert McCoy of Lewisburg, Pa., a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Hacker of North Glenn, Colorado; a sister, Esther Lindstrom of San Diego, California; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters. Burial was in the Richland Cemetery near Jamaica.
