Mrs. Sarah Shaffer died at the home of her daughter near East Peru Sunday June 26th. The remains were brought on Monday to her home near Tileville. The funeral took place at Union Chapel on Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Matheney and she was buried in the Union Chapel cemetery.

Mrs. J. T. Shaver died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Stitzler, south of East Peru, Sunday, June 26, and was buried from the Shaver home Tuesday the 28th at 1 p.m. and was interred at Union Chapel at 4 p.m. The sermon was preached by Rev. Matheny, of Winterset.
