INEZ DILLINGER, Peru

Inez M. Dillinger, 97, of Peru died Sept. 13, 2007, at Winterset Care Center South.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 17, at the Peru United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating. Burial was at Peru Cemetery.

Inez Dillinger was born June 16, 1910, in Villisca to John and Margret (Savage) Amerine. Her marriage to Verl William Dillinger took place June 5, 1927, in Clarinda. She grew up around Villisca and following her marriage to Verl, moved to Clarinda. In 1932, she and Verl moved to Peru. Inez, a homemaker, also assisted Verl on the farm. She was a member of the Garden Club, Royal Neighbors, Women’s Social Circle Club, Women’s Society and the Peru United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Verl Dillinger; a brother, Clarence Amerine; a sister, Hazel Waage; and five grandchildren, Linda Thompson, Kenny Dillinger, Dixie Lee Dillinger, Ronald Dale Dillinger and Dianne Nichols.

She is survived by her husband, Verl, of Peru; children — Bill Dillinger, Harold Dillinger and Richard Dillinger, all of Peru, Donald Dillinger of Walford, Larry Dillinger of Bella Vista, Ark., and Marilyn Hull of Van Meter; and 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 68 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials given to the family will be directed to the Peru United Methodist Church.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel & Funeral Services in Winterset.
