MARGARET JURGENSEN, Winterset

Margaret Jurgensen, 70, of Winterset died Sept. 15, 2007, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles with Pastor Doug Helton officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Margaret Jurgensen was born April 14, 1937, to Earl and Flossy Mae (Curtis) Allsup Sr. of Milo. She attended school in Milo and Winterset, graduating from DeSoto High School. Her marriage to Bill Jurgensen Sr. took place Nov. 19, 1954, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Van Meter. Margaret assisted her husband in managing the family farm. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Wayne Jurgensen; two brothers, James and Robert; and two grandchildren, Hailey and Jordan Jurgensen.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, of Winterset; four children — Bill Jurgensen Jr. of Stuart, Gail Jurgensen of Winterset and Christine Hobart and David Jurgensen, both of Prole; three siblings — Helen Cooper and Fern Douglas, both of Earlham, and Earl Allsup Jr. of Peru; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
