Wednesday, June 3, 1970ARCH HARPOLE DIES AT 61 YEARS
Archibald E. Harpole, a well known Madison county resident most of his life, died Thursday, May 28, at Veterans hospital in Des Moines. He was 61 years of age.
Mr. Harpole was born in Madison county April 29, 1909, a son of Alfred F. and Flora May Welty Harpole. He was a veteran of World War II, and affiliated with the American Legion and of the I.O.O.F. lodge at Macksburg. His church membership was with the Macksburg United Methodist.
Mr. Harpole had lived the last 14 years in Polk county. He never married, and nearest surviving relatives are a brother, Raymond C. Harpole of Sulfur, La.; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence M. Thomas of Macksburg; three nieces and four nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Macksburg United Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Ronald Kinzler. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
