CARROLL EYERLY OF OMAHA DIES

Carroll M. Eyerly, a former resident of Madison county, died this Monday, June 8, at St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha. He was 57 years of age.

Mr. Eyerly was a native of South Dakota, where he was born at Wimmer on Sept. 21, 1912, a son of Loren and Emma McComb Eyerly. In 1917 he came with his parents to Madison county and his early life was spent here. He graduated from Winterset High school with the class of 1931.

As a young man, he worked in Washington, D. C., in the bureau of statistics of the U.S. government.

When World War II broke out, he enlisted in the U.S. navy on the day after Pearl Harbor, and served four years in the Pacific theater of operations.

Since 1954, he had operated Mac's Drive-In at Omaha, Nebr.

Mr. Eyerly was married July 13, 1947 in Washington, D. C. to Marie Henry of Van Meter. She survives him.

He was a member of the United Methodist church in Omaha, and of the Masonic order there.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his father, Loren Eyerly of Winterset; a brother, Merwin Eyerly, of El Dorado, Kan.; and four sisters, Mrs. Doris Schulz of Winterset, Mrs. Marjorie Sc--er of Rudd, Ia., Mrs. Vivian Williams of Overland Park, Kan., and Mrs. Virginia Price of Chadd's Ford, Pa.

Memorial services were held Tuesday evening from the John Gentleman morturary in Omaha. Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the First United Methodist church in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Marsh of Omaha, assisted by the Rev. Walter Samp of Winterset. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
