OBITUARY

Sophia Elisabeth, daughter of William and Sarah J. McConkey, was born in Union Township, Madison County, Iowa, Sept. 19, 1865. She departed this life after a year's illness at the age of eighteen. She was converted about one month prior to her death, since which time she enjoyed a bright hope for a future life. The funeral occurred from her father's home, and she was buried in the grave-yard north of Winterset. The funeral sermon was preached by the writer from 1st Corinthians xx:54.
