BETTY A. OVERTON, Johnston

Betty A. Overton died November 4, 2005, at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was 71. Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 7, 2005 at All Saints Catholic Church in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Betty was born to Nicholas and Mary Waltz, August 19, 1934. After completing her education of several insurance classes obtaining her C.L.U., she worked for the Brooks-Lussem Insurance Agency for 26 years before her retirement.

Her memberships included All Saints Catholic Church and Insurance Women of America. She was also the Treasurer of the Catholic Daughters of America. Betty loved her family and friends. She had an avid interest in genealogy and gardening and especially The Catholic Daughters of America among other church activities.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Keith of Des Moines; and a daughter, Karla Overton of West Des Moines. Other survivors include her step-daughters, Dixie (Tom) Bergsma of Panora and Linda (Bill) Cowan of Des Moines, one step-son, Keith Dennis Overton also of Des Moines; three step-grandchildren; and nine step-great grandchildren. She also leaves four brothers, Dan, Jim, Don and Kenneth Waltz; and a sister, Marilyn Lyddon.

Preceding her death were her parents; a sister, Kathleen Holiday; and a brother, Edward Waltz.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to Mercy Hospice in Johnston, All Saints Catholic or Highland Park Lutheran Church.
