VIRGIL ADAMS OF MACKSBURG DIES

Long-Time Resident Died Thursday at Age of 51 Years

Virgil O. Adams, a resident of the Macksburg community most of his life, died Thursday, Dec. 24, at his home there. He was 51 years of age.

Mr. Adams was born Sept. 7, 1913 in Butterfield, Minn., a son of John Q. and Martha Lucas Adams. When he was 5 years old the family moved to near Macksburg. Since that time he had lived in that community, except for the period from 1954 to (?) when he lived in Ohio.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Adams; six sons, Billy and Phillip Adams at home, James Adams of Creston, John Michael Adams of Alameda, Calif., Gene Adams of Ft. Lee, Va., and Jack Adams of Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. Gene Farlow of Waynesville, Mo., Mrs. Wyman Wilson of Iowa City, and Cynthia at home. He also leaves a brother, Jack Adams of Winterset; and two sisters, Mrs. Glen Adams of Essex and Alma Adams of San Carlos, Calif.; in addition to two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Macksburg Methodist church, with the pastor the Rev. Donald Frank, officiating. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
