ROY E. HOLLIDAY DIES IN IDAHO

Roy E. Holliday, who operated a candy store in Winterset for many years, died Tuesday, July 15 at Nampa, Ida., where he had lived since 1954. He was 69 years of age.

Mr. Holliday was a native of Columbia, Ia., where he was born Feb. 2, 1901. He was employed as a butter maker for the Meadow Gold dairy until 1929, when he entered the candy manufacturing business for Flatt's Candy company. After 10 years with them, he moved to Winterset, where he operated the Holliday candy store until 1954. At that time he moved to Idaho and established a candy store in Nampa.

He was married at Russell, Ia., on Jan. 23, 1921 to Oneta Pierce, who survives him.

Mr. Holliday was a member of the Baptist church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Ford of Washington, D.C., two sons, Duane Holliday and Kenneth Holliday, both of Nampa; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth McCabe of Ottumwa and Mrs. Maude Hendrix of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held July 18 from Shepherd Mortuary chapel in Nampa, conducted by the Rev. Leo Reed, pastor of the First Baptist church of Nampa. Burial was made in Hillcrest Memorial gardens.
