OSCAR MABBITT DIES AT 73 YEARS

Oscar C. Mabbitt of Winterset died Thursday, Sept. 17, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 73 years of age.

Mr. Mabbitt was a native of Jackson township in Madison county where he was born Oct. 27, 1896. He was a son of John and Ardelia Lamb Mabbitt.

He was a retired automobile mechanic. He lived in Adel for many years, but had moved to Winterset in 1968 to make his home with a sister.

He leaves three sisters: Mrs. Sylvia Schoenenberger, Mrs. Irene Kephart, both of Winterset, and Mrs. Vada Criss of Topeka, Kan.; three brothers, Wesley Mabbitt of Topeka, Tom Mabbitt of Winterset and Russell Mabbitt of Ames.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. E. E. Jandebour, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Jackson township cemetery.
