JOE BRADSHAW OF MARTENSDALE DIES

Joe E. Bradshaw of Martensdale died at his home there Saturday, Sept. 19, at the age of 61 years.

Mr. Bradshaw was born at St. Charles on June 1, 1909, a son of Frank and Almetta VanScoy Bradshaw. His home had been at Martensdale the last 16 years.

He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Methodist church in St. Charles.

Mr. Bradshaw was married at New Virginia in 1933 to Thelma Allen, who survives him. He also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Dean Hampton of Madrid and Mrs. Dick Brown of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Bradshaw of Dexter and Clarence Bradshaw of Casper, Wyo.; and a sister, Mrs. Ena Smith of St. Charles.

Funeral Held For J. Bradshaw

Funeral services for Joseph Ellyson Bradshaw, 61, were held Tuesday, September 22 at the Martensdale Community Church with Rev. Joel Andrus officiating at the 1:30 p.m. service. Interment was in the St. Charles Cemetery. Mr. Bradshaw died at his home in Martensdale Saturday, September 19.

Joseph Ellyson Bradshaw was born in St. Charles, Iowa June 1, 1909, the son of Frank and Almetta VanScoy Bradshaw. He received his education in the Madison County schools in St. Charles. He was married in New Virginia, Iowa May 20, 1933 to Thelma Allen. They were the parents of seven children. He was a carpenter by trade. He resided the past 16 years in Martensdale. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Charles.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Thelma of Martensdale; two daughters, Mrs. Dean Hampton of Madrid, Iowa and Mrs. Dick Brown of Davenport, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Ray of Dexter, Iowa and Clarence of Casper, Wyoming and one sister, Mrs. Ena Smith of St. Charles, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five children, two sisters, and one brother.
