DEATHS

REAGER -- Died, at the residence of Isaac Reager in Walnut township, on the 11th inst. at 7 p.m., Mrs. Orpah Reager, in the 85th year of her age.

Deceased was born in Delaware county, New York, December 2, 1795. In early life she, with her parents, Ezra and Elizabeth Gregory, moved to Buffalo. In the spring of 1815 they moved to Indiana and settled at Terre Haute, then an Indian village. Here, in 1838, she was united in marriage to Andrew Reager. In 1845 she, with her husband, came to Iowa, and settled in Des Moines county, where they lived until the spring of 1854, when they came to Madison county, settling in Walnut township, where in April, 1878, she buried her husband. For thirteen years past she has been living with her step-son, Isaac Reager.

Mother Reager was a consistent member of the M. E. Church for fifty years. A devoted Christian, kind neighbor, she leaves many friends to mourn her departure. Hardly a family in the neighborhood but has some token of love wrought by her hands. In the triumphs of a living faith she passed away without a groan or a struggle.

A funeral service will be held at the Pleasant Grove School House on the first Sabbath in March, at 11 o'clock a.m.

Note: Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
