LAST RITES HELD FOR MARION BROOKER

Funeral services for Marion Brooker, well-known Jefferson township farmer, were held Sunday afternoon, Jan. 18 from Trinity Lutheran church south of Van Meter.

Mr. Brooker died Jan. 14 (1959) at Rochester, Minn. He suffered a heart attack several days following surgery. He was 69 years old.

The son of G. A. and Lidia Brooker, he was born April 16, 1889 at Hartley, Iowa. As a young man he moved to the Earlham area and upon his marriage to the former Marguerite Wehrkamp in 1923 to his present farm in northern Jefferson township. Mrs. Brooker died Feb. 28, 1958.

Mr. Brooker attended the Dexter and Earlham schools and was a former elder at Trinity Lutheran church.

Surviving are two children, Kenneth Brooker of Van Meter and Mrs. Celesta Peterson of Des Moines; and three grandchildren.

Officiating at the services Sunday afternoon was the Rev. A. C. Weber of Dexter. Burial was in the church cemetery.
