RUTH ANDERSON, LORIMOR

Ruth Elsie Anderson, 87, of Lorimor died Aug. 1, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset with Pastor Steve Koch officiating. Burial was at Lorimor Cemetery.

Ruth Anderson was born May 10, 1920, in Adair County to Herman and Frenzie (Mangels) Miller and was a graduate of Lorimor High School. Her marriage to James Robert Anderson took place May 22, 1949, in Winterset. Spending most of her life in Lorimor, Ruth had been a rural schoolteacher in her early years and was a homemaker after her marriage. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Herman Miller, Ernest Miller and Donnie Miller; and a sister, Minnie Miller.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Anderson of Monroe and Richard Anderson of Lorimor; one daughter, Frances Brant of Osceola; a brother, Elmer Miller of Peru; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel & Funeral Services in Winterset.
