Long-Time Monroe Township Resident Was 78 Years of Age
Mrs. Gail McCall, former Monroe township resident, who has lived in Afton the past 30 years died at the Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis Sunday morning March 13th at the age of 78 years.
Mrs. McCall was the former Zaida Holley of Lorimor in Union county. She was married to Gail McCall in October 1895, and they moved to the McCall farm in Madison county where they continued to reside until they retired and moved to Afton. Mr. McCall died December 28, 1954.
She became ill several months ago and was taken to Minneapolis by her daughter, Mrs. Mary Jo Olmstead, in an ambulance plane for surgery. It was thought she was recovering satisfactorily and had been taken to the Olmstead home in Minneapolis when a few days later she suffered a ruptured blood vessel and she had been returned to the hospital where she remained critically ill until her death.
Survivors include the daughter and her husband Robert Olmstead and two grandsons of Minneapolis.
Funeral services are being held at the Presbyterian church in Afton this afternoon and burial will be in the Lorimor cemetery.
