JOSEPH L. HARRIS DIES AT LORIMOR

Former Winterset Resident Succumbs at Age of 75 Years

Joseph L. Harris, long time resident of Madison and Union counties died July 1, at his home in Lorimor. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Harris was born December 2, 1873, south of Winterset. He was a son of Lewis J. and Sarah Berry Harris. Except for three years at Newton, his entire life was spent in Madison and Union counties.

He was married March 2, 1896 to Jennie Eldridge. His death ended 51 years of married life.

Mr. Harris followed farming and painting during his active years. When his health failed eight years ago, he moved to Winterset and to Lorimor two years ago.

He is survived by his wife and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held July 3, from the Lorimor Baptist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Woodrow Caldwell. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
