Page 1HANNAH SIMPSON DIES AT LORIMOR
Was Resident of Barney Community for 25 Years
Mrs. Hannah E. Simpson, long-time resident of the Barney community, died at her home in Lorimor Sunday, Oct. 8. She was 79 years of age.
Mrs. Simpson was the former Hannah Elizabeth Smith. She was born near Murray April 7, 1871. On June 3, 1898, she was married to Elias Simpson. For 25 years they made their home near Barney where she was a charter member of the Christian church. Her husband died in 1946.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Wight and Mrs. Frances Handley, both of Winterset; two sons, Charles Simpson of Winterset and Earl Simpson of Lorimor; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Mary Lyons of Murray.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Lorimor Methodist church. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
