Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset for Haymond Clopton, formerly of this community, whose death had occurred Jan. 10 at Fresno, Calif. The Rev. Max Johnson officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mr. Clopton was 65 years of age at his death. He was a son of Lincoln and Elizabeth Atchison Clopton, and was born at Winterset March 2, 1904. He was married at Indianola on Feb. 5, 1923, to Lela A. Clark, who survives him.
They lived in Iowa and in Brookfield, Mo., until moving to California in 1957. He worked as a truck driver until health forced his retirement in 1957.
In addition to his wife, he leaves five children, Mrs. Ronald Allgood of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Carl Kiser of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Eugene Neely of Brookfield, Mo., Earl W. Clopton of Fresno, and Haymond Clopton, Jr., of Ontario, Calif., in addition to 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He also leaves a brother, Gaymond J. Clopton of Earlham; and two sisters, Mrs. William Woodford of Des Moines and Mrs. Manford Flynn of Prairie Village, Kan.
