ARCHIE E. COOK

Archie Cook, the son of Levi and Abby Barnett Cook, was born June 6, 1890 near Dexter, Iowa. He passed away November 3, 1979 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset, Iowa at the age of 89.

Archie grew up in the Dexter area. As a young man he was united in marriage to Grace Cook. Two sons blessed their marriage. The family farmed in the Dexter and Winterset areas and later Archie was employed at the Adel sale barn.

Following his retirement Archie moved to Dexter where he lived for several years until failing health made it necessary for him to live at Villa West Nursing Home in Winterset.

Archie was a member of the Bear Creek Friends Church.

Survivors include his two sons, Robert of Granger, Utah and Neil of Midvale, Utah; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; one brother, Harold of Earlham and one sister, Mrs. Nora Noland of Adel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Grace in 1939, two sisters and one brother.

Services were held at the McKee Funeral Home, Dexter, Iowa on November 6, 1979. Interment was at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Dallas County, Iowa.
