Mrs. F. (Frank) C. Hodson, nee, Emma Feitz of Madison township, died on Christmas morning.

This is a peculiarly sad death as she leaves 4 small children, the oldest not quite 6 years of age.

Brief mention was made in our last issue of the death of Mrs. Frank Hodson who departed this life on Tuesday night, December 24, 1901. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church on last Friday morning, conducted by Revs. J. W. Stribling and Wm. Best, after which the remains were laid away in the Earlham cemetery.

The taking away of this wife and mother is a sad bereavement, and especially so coming as it did at the blessed Christmas tide.

Emma Louise Feitz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Feitz, was born in Owen county, Indiana, January 30, 1875. She came with her parents to Madison county, Iowa, in October, 1880, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Frank Hodson on November 28, 1895.

When quite young she became a member of the United Presbyterian church and she remained faithful to its teachings to the end. In her last sickness she knew what the end was to be and she assured her husband that while she would so much like to remain with him and their four dear children, Ivan, Nile, Mildred and the baby, she had heard the call to come up higher and was willing to obey the summons.
