Death of Mrs. Crawford.

Mrs. Andrew Crawford, of this city, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. M. Mills, at Lincoln, Illinois.

The funeral occurred at the home of her son, A. W. Crawford in this city. Mrs. Crawford came to Winterset from England with her husband when Winterset was a straggling prairie village.

She had a large circle of acquaintances in this city and in Des Moines. Mrs. Mills and George Crawford, of Kansas City, her younger son, were both present at the funeral.

Obituary: The funeral of Mrs. Georgia Crawford, widow of the late Andrew Crawford, took place on Sunday afternoon, the 22nd. inst. The pall bearers were R. H. Cooper, T. J. Hudson, John McAndrew, Oliver White, Thomas Mullinex and Charles Danforth.

Mrs. Crawford was born in Dublin, Ireland, of English parents who lived in London, but were temporary residents of Dublin. Her father was Abraham Walker and her mother was Elizabeth Ansel, who was a daughter of Col. Ansel of the English Army.

In 1831, the parents with a family of several sons and daughters removed to New York City.

On August 8, 1848, she was married to Andrew Crawford, a young merchant of Cincinnati, where they lived a few years. That is where Andrew Walker Crawford, their first son was born. John Ansel Crawford, their second son died in infancy. Elizabeth Isabella Crawford, a daughter was also born in Cincinnati and died at Winterset in 1860. George Frederick Crawford was born in Columbus, Indiana, where they resided for a short time. In 1855 they came to Winterset where the youngest child, Annette Crawford was born and where Mr. Crawford died on June 3rd, 1879.

For the past two and a half years, Mrs. Crawford has resided with her daughter, Mrs. F. M. Mills at Lincoln, Illinois, where she passed away. The remains were brought to Winterset for burial.
