Levi Phillips died at the residence of P. W. Jellison, in this city, Tuesday morning and was buried the next day. This is another of Madison county's landmarks gone. Mr. Phillips was born in Ohio in 1823, and moved to Madison county in 1854, where has ever been his home until his death. He was one of the most respectable farmers in Scott township, and his death will be deplored by his many friends. He was sick for some time.

From Peru.

Mr. Levi Phillips was buried at the Peru cemetery last Wednesday. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Chase from II Cor. 5-1.
