Irene "Rene" Hubbard, Elkader

Irene "Rene" Rosella Hubbard, 74, of Elkader died February 3, 2000 at Central Community Hospital in Elkader following an extended illness. Funeral services were February 7 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elkader. The Rev. Paul R. Peters officiated the services and burial followed at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader.

She was born August 9, 1925 on a farm near Elkader to Martin and Leona (Kafer) Wiley. She married Harry Raymond Hubbard on October 5, 1946 in Elkader. She graduated from Littleport, Iowa High School. She enjoyed crocheting and needle work.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brother, one sister and one grandson.

Surviving relatives include her husband; three sons David Hubbard and wife Paula of Garner, Roger Hubbard and wife Trish of Truro and Ron Hubbard of Winterset; one daughter Cheryl Scheffert and husband Gail of Garber; eleven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
