Sarah Geraldine Hollingsworth, 89, of Winterset died April 10, 2001 of renal failure at Winterset Care Center North. A private family service was officiated by the Rev. Bill Branson and burial followed at Winterset Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel and Funeral Services in Winterset.

She was born December 17, 1911 in Blockton to John William and Sarah Lorene (Beson) Moon. She married Lester Ray Hollingsworth on September 28, 1936 in Mr. Ayr. She had lived the past 60 years in Madison County and was a farmwife and homemaker. She had been active in church activities and member of the First Christian Church in Blockton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, two brothers, two half-sisters, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include one sister Bernice Irig of Cedar Rapids; one granddaughter, Sarah Anne Hoff of Winterset and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Anne and Lewis James Hoff, both of Winterset.
