Funeral Rites Set for Mrs. W. S. Snow

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertine Barker Snow, 84, former prominent club and church woman, will be held at 1 o.clock tomorrow in the Butterworth chapel. Cremation will follow.

Mrs. Snow died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George W. Christensen, 3039 15th Ave. W. She had resided with her daughter since she became ill 15 months ago. Prior to her illness Mrs. Snow had resided in Zenith.

A native of Winterset, Iowa, Mrs. Snow was graduated from the Orleans School of Music in Chicago. She came here 41 years ago from Denver. Her husband, W. S. Snow, died in 1933. He was associated with a chemical company here.

Mrs. Snow was a past president of the Women's Century Club and the women's Elks. She was a past regent of the Lady Sterling Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, a past queen of Hatasu Temple, Daughters of the Nile, and a past matron of Juanita Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Des Moines. She was the first matron of the Sunset Court, Order of Amaranth, Des Moines.

Mrs. Snow was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and for many years taught Sunday school there.

Her only survivor is her daughter.
