HEART ATTACK FATAL FOR PAUL SLAYBAUGH

Paul L. Slaybaugh, 58, of Winterset was stricken with a fatal heart attack at his home here shortly after noon Tuesday.

Funeral services for Mr. Slaybaugh have been set for Friday afternoon at Richards Funeral home.

The son of George and Alice Slaybaugh, he was born at Bayard, Iowa on Jan. 23, 1896.

On Aug. 24, 1937 he was married to Mary Crossley of this community. He had been a resident of Winterset and the Peru community for about 10 years. For the past several years, he and his wife have operated the Corner tavern here.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, by a previous marriage, Harold of Edgewood, Calif. and Paul, Jr. of Coon Rapids, Ia.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Brown of Coon Rapids and Mrs. Lulu Albright of Jefferson, Ia.; and two brothers, John Slaybaugh of Stuart, Ia., and Wilford Slaybaugh of Bayard.

Officiating at the services this Friday afternoon will be the Rev. Warren Hile of the local Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.
