SALLY MAE HENSON

Sally Mae Netherton, child of Don and Clara Netherton, was born at Brighton, Missouri, March 31, 1893, and died at her home in Penn township, Madison county, Iowa, March 22, 1954 at the age of 60 years, 11 months and 22 days.

Her early life was spent in Missouri. She married Charlie Henson on Christmas day 1912, and the young couple moved shortly thereafter to Iowa where they have made their home since. They first lived near Bagley then moved near Yale, then seven years ago came to Penn Center neighborhood where they were living at the time of her death.

They had four children: Carl Nelson Henson of Cooper; Mrs. Jewell Robinson of Littleton, Colorado; Mrs. Ruby Easley of Dexter; and Mrs. Marjorie Gore near Salsburg, Austria.

She leaves her husband, four children, seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services were held at the Penn Center church Wednesday, March 24 at 1:p.m. with burial in the Prairie Center cemetery. The ministers attending were Rev. Clyde King of the Penn Center charge and Rev. Toole of Perry.

We have just learned of the sudden death of Mrs. Charley Hensen. She passed away Monday morning at her home. She was sixty-one years old and had been in failing health.

Mr. and Mrs. Charley Hensen came to live in this community in the year of 1947 at the former Clyde Wynkoop farm.

Survivors are her husband, a son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hensen, Marilyn and Dickey of Cooper, Iowa; three daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Easley, Roger and Jimmy, of this community, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Robinson, Virginia and Elwyn of Denver, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gore and baby son of Austria.

Funeral services are planned for Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the Penn Center Methodist church. Burial will be at Prairie Center. We extend sincere sympathy to these families.
