MRS. F. W. FUSON, DEAD AT 91 YEARS

Death Ends Seventy-Four Years Marriage For Winterset Couple

Death came Tuesday, Sept. 21, at her home in Winterset to one of the community's oldest residents, Mrs. F. W. Fuson. She was 91 years of age.

Mrs. Fuson had been a resident of Madison county more than half a century and a resident of Winterset for 34 years. She and her husband were Winterset's oldest married couple, having observed their seventy-fourth wedding anniversary last February.

Mrs. Fuson was a native of Indiana, where she was born at Logansport on Dec. 15, 1862. When she was 8 years old she moved with her parents to Kansas where her early life was spent. She was married there on Feb. 12, 1880 to Franklin W. Fuson. They came to a farm in Shelby county, Iowa to make their home.

Mr. and Mrs. Fuson came to Madison county in 1900 farming in Webster township for 21 years after which they retired and moved to Winterset.

Mrs. Fuson joined the Oak Grove Evangelical church in 1907. In Winterset, she placed her membership in the Methodist church in which she was active as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Woman's Christian Temperance union and the Woman's Relief Corps here.

Mrs. Fuson was the mother of 10 children, triplet sons dying in infancy.

She is survived by her husband; seven children, Delbert Fuson of Tacoma, Wash., Vernon Fuson of Thorp, Wash., Claude Fuson of Nampa, Idaho, Mrs. Tina Bogue of Anacortes, Wash., Mrs. Nettie Binns of Winterset, and Lester and Guy Fuson of Des Moines. She also leaves 45 grandchildren; a half-sister, Nellie Fletcher of Oklahoma; and a half-brother, Delbert Curtis also of Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Winterset Methodist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
