Rev. J. E. White, a resident of Madison county for 35 years passed away at his home near Prosser, Nebraska. His mortuary follows:

Funeral services were held at the Rosedale Evangelical church Friday afternoon for the Rev. J. E. White.

The funeral sermon was delivered by the Rev. A. Jannen, presiding elder of this district, assisted by the Rev. George Needles. Pallbearers were Clarence Cox, Jesse Hurst, A. Robinson, the Rev. A. H. Schwab, the Rev. Guy Savage and William Yates.

J. E. White was born near High Point, S. C., August 22, 1850, and died May 2, 1934. In the early sixties the family moved to Indiana. A few years later he went to Iowa.

In 1873 he was married to Miss Ruth Benham. Four children were born to this union, two dying in infancy. When he was about 40 years old he was converted and joined the Protestant Methodist church. He soon entered the active ministry and held several charges in the conference in Iowa.

In 1903 he moved with the family to his farm near Prosser, where he has since lived. He joined the Rosedale Evangelical church January 12, 1908, and has supplied at various times and held series of meetings. His wife died May 11, 1925.

He leaves one brother, the Rev. D. A. White of Lorimor, Iowa, one daughter, Mrs. J. A. Morgan and one son, J. M. White, both of Prosser. There are three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Burial was in the Cedar View cemetery at Doniphan, Nebraska.
