FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR ELIJAH NICHOLS

Elijah Nichols, a life-long resident of the Peru community died last Friday at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines. He was 56 years of age.

He was born on a farm south of Peru on Feb. 22, 1896. On Feb. 22, 1925, he married Grace Irene Hope. He was engaged in farming all his married life.

Surviving are his wife, two children, Larry and Margie; four brothers, Rob, Al and Ern, all of Peru, and George of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Henry McCaughey of Des Moines.

Funeral services for Mr. Nichols were held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 6 from the Kale Funeral home at Truro. The officiating minister was Earl Travis of Peru. Burial was in the Peru cemetery.
