Roberta J. Estell died July 30, 2007 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Funeral Services will be held at 11.00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Westover Funeral Home, Des Moines, Iowa. Internment will be at Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, Iowa at 2 p.m.

Roberta was born on July 30, 1915 in Madison County, Iowa to Ernest J. Alexander and Henrietta L. Schoen. She graduated from Winterset High School. On October 7, 1945 she married Oscar (Dean) Estell. She worked for Great Plains Bag Company for 30 years as Office Manager and Payroll Clerk. For many years Roberta was a familiar sight at Valley West Mall where she walked and enjoyed coffee with fellow mall walkers.

She is survived by her sister, Trudy (Ellis) Oldham of Windsor Heights; sisters-in-law,
Darlene Alexander of Winterset and Darline Eyerly of Phoenix. Her husband, Dean; sisters, Lenore and Louise; and brother, Joe preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or the West Des Moines United Methodist Church.

Roberta J. Estell, 92, died July 30, 2007, at the Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 2, at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial was at Greenfield Cemetery.

Roberta Estell was born July 30, 1915, in Madison County to Ernest J. and Henrietta L. (Schoen) Alexander and was a graduate of Winterset High School. Her marriage to Oscar “Dean” Estell took place Oct. 7, 1945. Roberta was the office manager and payroll clerk for Great Plains Bag Company for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Lenore and Louise; and a brother, Joe.
She is survived by a sister, Trudy Oldham of Windsor Heights.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa or the West Des Moines United Methodist Church.
