Elmer J. Paull, Veteran of World War I Was Living Alone in Home
PERU-Elmer J. Paull, a resident of this community for 25 years, was found dead last Wednesday, May 28, in the home here where he lived alone. He was 63 years of age, and was a veteran of World War I.
The body was found on the floor of the living room by Claude Shearer who had gone there to investigate after neighbors noted that Mr. Paull had not been seen since Monday. County officials who were called to investigate reported the death due to natural causes.
Mr. Paull and his father came to this community from Stuart 25 years ago to farm north of Peru. After the death of his father, he moved into Peru and worked as a farm hand. He had been in ill health recently.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Ray Harness. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
