NANCY JO CLARKE, Waukee

We celebrate the life of Nancy Jo Clarke, age 67, of Waukee, Iowa, who passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 of cancer at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2007 with Pam Avaux and Judy Winkelpleck officiating, followed by entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum in West Des Moines. The family will receive friends at Lutheran Church of Hope from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1. The Nancy Clarke Memorial Fund has been established by the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home of Leon, Iowa.

Nancy was born August 29, 1939 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Brown and Louise (Williams) Agnew, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Winterset Senior High School. She and Norm Clarke were married June 14, 1959 in Winterset. Nancy was employed by Edwards Graphic Arts in Des Moines the past 12 years. She enjoyed working and showed her artistic talent in knitting and using her favorite colors of red, white and blue. She was very patriotic. Nancy had a personal relationship with P. (Pat) Buckley Moss and collected her art work. She also participated in Hilltoppers and Christian Women’s organizations. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything else. She loved attending activities her grandchildren were involved in.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Norm Clarke; children: Doug Clarke and wife Cheryl of West Des Moines; Maribeth Trevillyan and husband Dennis of Urbandale; and Monica Costa and husband Chuck of Breda, Iowa. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Nick Brannen, Ben and Sarah Clarke, Daphane and Buphie Trevillyan and Joe Costa and wife Amy; great grandchildren: P.J., Katelyn and Kelton Costa; brother Jim Agnew and wife Marian of Des Moines; and other relatives and friends.

Nancy Jo Clarke, 67, of Waukee died of cancer July 28, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines with Pam Avaux and Judy Winkelpleck officiating. Entombment will be at the Resthaven Mausoleum in West Des Moines. The family will receive friends at Lutheran Church of Hope from 5–7 p.m. today.

Nancy Clarke was born Aug. 29, 1939, in Winterset to Brown and Louise (Williams) Agnew and was a graduate of Winterset High School. Her marriage to Norm Clarke took place June 14, 1959, in Winterset. She is survived by her husband, Norm, of Waukee; one son, Doug Clarke of West Des Moines; two daughters, Maribeth Trevillyan of Urbandale and Monica Costa of Breda; a brother, Jim Agnew of Des Moines; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The Nancy Clarke Memorial Fund has been established by the family.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon.
