TRURO-Mrs. Velma E. (Jones) Muselman, a resident of Truro for 34 years died Saturday, July 26, at University hospital in Iowa City at the age of 56 years. She had served as a clerk in the C. C. Kale and Sons store for 20 years.
Mrs. Muselman was born in Clarke county Oct. 1895. She was married to (Benjamin) Harrison Muselman on Nov. 11, 1914 at Osceola. Her husband and one daughter, Ruth Irene preceded her in death.
She was an active member of the Truro Methodist church for many years.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Nola Huglin of Truro; a son, Harrison Muselman Jr., of Des Moines and four sisters, Mrs. Eva DeLong and Mrs. Ida Garst of Truro, Mrs. Edith Whitehead of Lorimor, and Mrs. Mattie Smith of Des Moines. She also leaves three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 29 from the Truro Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Clarence Moore. Burial was made in the Young cemetery.

Velma Elizabeth Jones, daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth Jones, was born in Clarke county, Iowa, October 28, 1895 and died July 26, 1952, at the age of 56 years, 8 months and 28 days.
She was united in marriage to Harrison Muselman Nov. 11, 1914 at Osceola. Three children were born to this union. Her husband and one daughter, Ruth Irene, preceded her to the Great Beyond.
She leaves to mourn her death, one daughter, Nola Huglin of near Truro, and her son, Harrison Jr., of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Billie Dean Huglin and Richard and Tommy Muselman; four sisters, Mrs. Eva DeLong, Mrs. Ida Garst of Truro, Mrs. Edith Whitehead of Lorimor and Mrs. Mattie Smith of Des Moines; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
She joined the church of her choice at an early age and was a member of the Truro Methodist church at the time of her death. Velma, as she was known was possessed with an unusually strong faith in her God and a deep understanding of her fellow men. She has always been a consistent Christian, a devoted mother and a friend to all who needed her. Velma won for herself an abiding place in the hearts of all who knew her.
Services were conducted by Rev. Clarence Moore and Kenneth Barnes, of Waterloo, a nephew of Mrs. Muselman sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Interment at Young cemetery.
