William H. McCleeary, lifelong resident of Madison county, died at the Memorial hospital in Winterset Saturday, Nov. 1 after an extended illness. He was 87 years of age.
Mr. McCleeary was born in Jefferson township on Feb. 24, 1855. He was a member of a large and well known family here, 10 brothers and sisters having preceded him in death.
His active life was spent in farming. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Methodist church.
Nearest surviving relative is a brother, C. C. McCleeary of St. Charles.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset conducted by the Rev. Eldon Haworth. Burial was made in the Jefferson cemetery. (Jefferson-Goar)
